How do I change my life around?
Your thoughts direct your life – Using positive mental power you too can direct your thoughts to the outcomes you want.
Most of us go through life taking little notice of the thoughts we have. Our thoughts are reactions to what is happening around us and our feelings are reactions to our thoughts. When events happen we usually blame them on outside circumstances or other people and fail to see that we have anything to do with what’s happened.
But there’s hope! More and more books have been written (based on science) to tell us about using the incredible power of your mind to control your thoughts and directing them to what you want to achieve. John Kehoe is one of these authors. He explains how quantum physics has made very interesting discoveries about energy and that it’s not only electricity, sound and light that are made up of energy. All particles in the universe are made up of energy and this includes you and your thoughts.
In the last 20 years scientists have made a number of startling new discoveries which have helped us to understand more clearly how the mind creates its own reality. “Modern physics now sees the universe as a vast, inseparable web of dynamic activity. Not only is the universe alive and constantly changing, but everything in the universe affects everything else. Modern physics has changed our concept of the material world. Particles are no longer seen as consisting of any basic “stuff”, rather they are seen as bundles of energy. Your thoughts too are vibrations of energy. Everything at its purest and deepest essence is energy and whenever you think, you are working with an immense amount of this energy in the quick, light, mobile form of thought.”
Thoughts set the direction for your actions and your life and thoughts are forever trying to express themselves in a physical form. It is the nature of thoughts to always look for an outlet so they can manifest themselves.
A single thought by itself doesn’t have much power, the power comes from repeating it. Neuroscience studieshave shown that repeated thoughts create strong neural paths in your subconscious and this in turn has a strong impact on your life without you even realising it. To conserve energy, our subconscious minds run our lives on autopilot about 95% of the time so beliefs in our subconscious strongly direct our lives. The more the thought is repeated, the more energy and power it generates, and the more likely it is that the thought will become reality.
Brisbane authors Martina Sheehan and Susan Pearce talk about the same thing in their book ‘Wired for Life’. According to them “What you focus on grows”.
As John Kehoe says”: “Whether you like it or not, you are forever creating your reality through what you are thinking.”
So it is very important to be aware of the subconscious thoughts that are directing your life. With my clients I find that many of these subconscious beliefs are the root cause of them not achieving the changes they would like to make and unfortunately, like most of us, they’re usually not even aware of them.
However, the great news is that through targeted questioning and doing exercises, these subconscious beliefs can certainly be unearthed. And they can be successfully changed through repeatedly and consciously giving the mind the right messages. My clients are then free to achieve the positive life changes and breakthroughs they’re after.
